I've been interning at Philips since August 2025 as an AI and Automation Engineering Intern, and I'm thrilled to share that I'll soon be converted into a full-time employee in the same team. This role has been transformative in ways I couldn't have anticipated.

The Best of Both Worlds

What makes my journey unique is that I've had the opportunity to experience both sides of what corporate can offer. At Applied Materials, I got deep technical and engineering exposure—building features, working with complex codebases, and learning backend engineering from the ground up.

At Philips, I'm getting the business side of things. I'm learning how AI and automation solutions are designed not just from a technical perspective, but from a business value perspective. How do we solve real problems? How do we measure impact? How do we align technology with business goals?

AI and Automation

Working in AI and automation has been incredibly exciting. The field is evolving rapidly, and being part of a team that's actively building solutions in this space is both challenging and rewarding.

I'm learning about machine learning pipelines, automation frameworks, and how to build systems that can scale. But more than that, I'm learning how to think about problems holistically—considering not just the technical implementation, but the user experience, the business impact, and the long-term maintainability.

Growth and Gratitude

I'm so glad I got to work here. The team is supportive, the work is meaningful, and the learning opportunities are endless. The fact that I'm being converted to a full-time employee feels like validation that I'm on the right path.

Philips has taught me that being a good engineer isn't just about writing good code—it's about understanding the context in which that code operates. It's about communication, collaboration, and continuous learning.

I'm excited to continue this journey, to keep learning, and to contribute to building solutions that make a real difference.
